Airplane in Middle of Road Causes Traffic Jam in Xi'an
By Bridget O'Donnell
Drivers in Xi'an's Yanliang district were treated to an amusing traffic jam yesterday after an airplane blocked roads off for over an hour.
Police were dispatched to help ease congestion in the area. It took over one hour to clear roads because, as it turns out, a 30-meter-long, 13 ton plane is actually quite difficult to turn.
Wondering how a plane without a nose or wings ends up smack dab in the middle of a four-lane road in the first place? The reasons are still a bit unclear, but a company in the area says they were using the plane to help train crew members.
Frustrated drivers stuck in the traffic jam took to social media to vent. "I hear you guys get stuck in traffic jams in big cities, but our traffic jams here in Yanliang are way different," wrote one.
